Yuriy Lysenko is a well know balalaika player in the Ukraine and in the Netherlands.
His performing style is full of emotions. The Yuriy’s repertoire is universal.
It includes Russian, Ukrainian, Holland folk tunes, melodies of different countries Peoples, works of Russian and foreign classics and contemporary composers and certainly arrangements of jazz and pop music talented and original.
He graduated in Ukranian National Academy of music in Kiev.
Now Yury is leading the chamber class in folk instrument department of Academy.
He plays with different musicians. It is duos with bayanists:
Vladimir Vasilenko and Gennadiy Zavgorodniy - they are brilliant virtuosos, a versatile, deeply feeling musicians.
He also plays with the group “UZORY”
10 years he was a member of group and with that group he had many prizes, concerts, festivals and starring tours around the Europe.
Duo “CAPRICE” it is duo of Yuriy Lysenko and Oksana Ryndenko - balalaika and piano.
His is wonderful combination has special charm and colour.
They played many performances in Ukraine and in the Netherlands at the Tweede Kamer Der Staten-Generaal,
Dag van de Romantische Muziek in Rotterdam, Festival of Pieter Great in Zondam, Biblioteke teatre in Rotterdam, etc.
And also Yuriy plays with unique group from Ukraine. This is KIEV OKTET OF BALALAIKA.
This group has 8 different types of balalalika and has beautiful timbre of sound.
Oktet allways performs in Kiev Philarmonic Sosiety with the famous artists of the World.
On the summer 2007 Yuriy played with The Rotterdam Philharmonics Orchestra and baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
